The Archives - February 2007

Feb. 21 Update: It’s warmer now, in the 40s by day and 20s by night. Most of the snow has melted off except the piles left by snow plow operations. It almost feels spring-like, but logic tells me the cold ain’t done yet…

COLD!

Not much more to report than that. I saw -10° on the car thermometer driving in to work the other day. The water spigots in the machine shed and chicken coop are frozen, as is the water tank for the horse and goats, so Tyler’s having to fill the waterers with a bucket, and hand-pump water from the old well for the large animals. I'm just hoping that the pipes in the ground have not burst - otherwise there will be some digging and repairing to do in the spring.

We've had several more light snows (3-5" each), and the last one was a very light, dry, powdery snow.
