The Archives - December 2009

We're just a family following Christ, living in a ~90 year-old house out on the prairie (and yes, we do have peach trees), rearing a couple of Godly sons and all the while trying to not make the locals laugh too much at our attempts at farming. Poke around all you want and feel free to drop us a line anytime.

Last Update for 2009

I'm sitting here just a few days from the end of 2009, with a moonlit blanket of snow covering everything outside and the end-of-day quietness inside the house, reflecting on the year nearly past and the one to come.

It's been a challenging year in many ways, and yet, on the whole, very joyful. I much better understand what it means to walk with Christ through trials, and also more sharply see where He's working on smoothing rough edges away from my life.

We're very blessed to live on our little farm, and, as every older person well understands, are coming up on new seasons of life as our eldest son launches out into a career in 2010, and we contemplate our younger son finishing his high school education in 2011. Many things to think about and plan for over the next few years.

We pray the Lord will grant you joy in the new year, and encourage you to purpose to glorify the Lord with your life, or if you don't really have a relationship with Christ, to perhaps read through the Gospel of John and consider what His purpose is and how you fit into it.

Have a great new year!
