I am not called to be a missionary in Kenya.

Let me rephrase that statement. I am not called to be a missionary specifically in Kenya. I have come to the realization that my “calling” was really just based on the romanticism of living in Kenya. Before that I wanted to be a preacher in the inner city of Chicago, and before that I wanted to be a missionary to Fire Fighters.

So, now that I have said this (probably very shocking statement), I must say something else. I am still called to be a missionary – I am a missionary. Being a missionary doesn’t specifically mean leaving America for a foreign country to share the gospel with some indigenous tribe. Being a missionary is being on a mission to share the gospel with anyone! I am a missionary wherever I am whether it be in Nairobi, Kenya or Toulon, Illinois.

Even though I am not specifically called to be a missionary in Kenya, I would love, and would jump at the opportunity, to go there on a missions trip. However, it is with the realization that I am a missionary wherever I am.
