The Archives - March 2007

Chad recently directed his first film, called Esther (the story from the Bible). In addition to directing, he was Director of Photography, which means he set up all the shots used in the short film. The production was done in conjunction with the Peoria Home School Art Guild in a film production class they gave starting last fall. Pastor Jesse Powell was the Producer of the 18 minute short.

Chad is calling his film company Stonebridge Motion Pictures, and he has also started a blog called AbsoluteTruth—check it out when you get a moment! He's also into still photography, using a Pentax K10D digital SLR camera we gave him for Christmas.

In Like a Lion?

The first stirrings of spring have arrived—we spent the past Saturday out in the big machine shed (doors wide open) doing some tuneup work on the truck, and shelling and grinding more corn for the chickens. We also spent a good part of the afternoon over at the church picking up dead limbs that were felled by the two ice storms we had over the winter. It's a pure delight to be able to work outside in shirt sleeves again!

Of course, the week prior, we were dealing with heavy rains and flooding. We saw the Spoon River crest its banks and flood out the two roads we take to get into town. It was an impressive sight!
