The Archives - December 2008

If you're visiting for the first time or haven't stopped in for a long time (maybe you just got our Christmas card), welcome! A couple areas to direct your attention to might be the Archives, with posts from this past year, this year's progress on the house remodeling project, the very extensive doc-u-blog of the restoration of our 1950 Ford 8N tractor, or hop over to Chad or Tyler's blogs.

As you catch up on what we've been up to, note that our desire is that the Lord be glorified in our home and lives - we have seen His hand of provision and healing all throughout the year, and have been able to help others to His glory, too.

Join us as we celebrate the advent of Christ, but keep in mind that our focus, while starting with His birth, must always end with His death and ressurection. Praise be to the Lord for His unspeakable gift!

Precious Treasure

Chad's latest film is a semi-finalist at the 2009 San Antonio Independent Christian Film Festival!

First Snowfall

We finished putting away all our farming equipment yesterday, and just in time - we woke up to about an inch of snow this morning, with several more accumulating during the day. The ground is still somewhat warm, so it's melting away as it falls, but has still been very pretty to see.

Honoring A Veteran

This past weekend, the boys and I drove down to the Naval Base at Kings Bay, Georgia for the annual Submarine Memorial Service held there. My Dad served on the USS Burrfish (SSR-312) during the Korean conflict, and had invited me and my brothers to attend this year.

The service was very moving, and it was great to see these men honored for their service to our country. We really enjoyed talking with several and hearing some of their stories.

We also got to tour through some of the training facilities on the base, which was neat!

From Kings Bay, we drove up to Charleston, South Carolina to visit with friends, and stopped by for a brief visit at the Mighty Eighth Air Force Museum, where the boys got in some gunnery practise:

Ya'll drop us a line when you can, now!
