The Archives - March 2011

We're just a family following Christ, living in a ~95 year-old house out on the prairie (and yes, we do have peach trees), rearing a couple of Godly sons and all the while trying to not make the locals laugh too much at our attempts at farming. Poke around all you want and feel free to drop us a line anytime.

Last Gasp of Winter (We Hope)

And what a gasp it was. 15-18" of blowing snow hit us hard - it took about 36 hours before the snow plows even got to us, and my normal route to work was still blocked the next day. Due to the blowing, we had anywhere from a grass-scoured 1/4" up to six foot deep drifts.

Boys Bedroom is Done!

It took him almost a year to finally complete it, but Tyler's hard work finally paid off when we had the carpet installed yesterday in their bedroom.

Since Chad is in Arizona right now, Tyler's had free reign to arrange things to his liking!

From Coop to Pot

Tyler and I butchered our first chicken together recently. It was pretty tough, even after simmering on the stove a long time. At least we kind of know what to do now.

Auto Shop

Tyler and I started back up on the 1963 Volkswagen recently. Here he his cutting out a rusty wheelwell panel.

Be Mine!

And finally, the boys treated Beth and I to a gourmet dinner at Ché Prairié. It was EXCELLENT!

Ya'll drop us a line when you can, now!
