One of the things I love about living on the prairie out in the Middle West is the regular cycle of things. A sure indicator of fall is when the window units come back out to be stored away in the attic until the following July.
Related to that, the solid door goes back into the access hatch to the roof space over the kitchen—during warm months, I have a panel with a box fan mounted to it which we keep running to draw cooler air into the house, kind of like an attic fan.
Finally, it’s also time for the fall crop of kittens. “Momma Cat” had five this time!
