We enjoyed a slow non-travel day at Mom & Dad’s today. Well actually, we did travel a little bit—we went to a farm to pick blueberries, but got there to find they were closed for the day.

After a good morning worshiping with other believers at Mom & Dad’s church in Bonner’s Ferry, ID, followed by a delicious meal at the church, we headed up to Kootenai Falls.

Merritt (British Columbia) is a smallish town which is primarily supported by logging. We learned from our friends that the area is technically considered desert as they receive around 10″ of rain annually.

We enjoyed another delicious meal with the Hollands this morning (Ed did the cooking!), and after reluctantly repacking the van, headed out toward the border…

Today was mainly a travel day that saw us depart the high desert areas of Oregon (roughly following the Oregon Trail).

We spent Sunday night at Cody’s Cowboy Village in Cody, Wyoming—it was really neat! After doing a little shopping in Cody the next morning, we headed into Yellowstone, and arrived about 15 minutes before Old Faithful put on her show.

Our travels started today with a drive-by of the Mt. Rushmore monument. Both of us felt that, while majestic, it was “smaller” than what we expected.
